Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.25% in an upbeat market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.25 per cent down at 37206.8.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:45AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.15 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.52 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.42 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 0.4 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.33 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.28 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.11 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.25 per cent at 37206.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 157.91 points at 24281.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 525.42 points at 79966.87.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Renewable, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank and HDFC Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kingfa Science Tech, Country Club, D-Link(India), Diamines Chem and G M Breweries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akme Fintrade(India, GIR Natureview, IndInfravit Trust, 3rd Rock MultiMedia and Future Supply Chain hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
