Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.2%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.2 per cent down at 37668.65.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.Shares of Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Coforge Ltd.(down 1.62 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.7 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.28 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.2 per cent down at 37668.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 112.66 points at 24433.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 391.26 points at 80351.64.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 ended in the green, while 17 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam, Indian Railway Fin and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Sharda Motor, Bombay Burmah, Kellton Tech, RPP Infra Proj and D-Link(India)hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Filatex Fashions, Vraj Iron & Steel, IRIS Clothings, MEP Infrastructure and Praxis Home Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
