Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.13% in a weak market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.13 per cent down at 35768.15.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:24AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent) were among the top gainers.
L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.8 per cent) and Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.13 per cent at 35768.15 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 61.16 points at 21756.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 171.72 points at 71840.33.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Steel, NHPC and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Nagreeka Export, Cubex Tubings, D P Abhushan, Sapphire Foods and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, N K Industries, Bohra Industries, SCI Land and Assets and Nagreeka Capital hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
