Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.05% in a weak market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.05 per cent down at 37701.95.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:15AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.Infosys Ltd.(up 0.66 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.45 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.75 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.59 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.36 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.26 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was down 0.05 per cent at 37701.95 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 52.65 points at 24271.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 164.14 points at 79832.46.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and IFCI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Alphageo , Shreyans Ind, Rail Vikas Nigam, Kaya and Suven Life Sci hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while CMI Ltd, Brightcom Group, Praxis Home Retail, MEP Infrastructure and SEL Manufacturing Co hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
