Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 1.65% in a weak market
The Nifty IT index was trading 1.65 per cent up at 34106.95.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:20AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 8.89 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 4.85 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 3.87 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 2.8 per cent) and Coforge Ltd.(up 2.66 per cent) were among the top gainers.
L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 7.86 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 1.65 per cent at 34106.95 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 47.0 points at 22523.35, while the BSE Sensex was down 194.21 points at 74145.23.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 26 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, GMR Infra, SAIL and HUDCO were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kirloskar Ind, Kirloskar Pneumatic, Asahi Songwon, Dolat Invst and Kirloskar Oil hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, MT Educare, Times Guaranty, Welspun Invst and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
