Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 1.02% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:04AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.MphasiS Ltd.(up 3.88 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 2.28 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.04 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 1.63 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 1.36 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 17.75 points at 22182.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 86.84 points at 72900.19.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 14 were trading in the green, while 36 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, YES Bank, Canara Bank and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Roto Pumps, Kirloskar Bros., Sarla Perform, Welspun Ent and Oberoi Realty hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Brightcom Group, N K Industries, Twentyfirst Cent, Eurotex Ind and IRB InvIT Fund hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
