Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.77%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.77 per cent up at 33473.0.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.Shares of Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.4 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.48 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(up 1.15 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.06 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.15 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 2.05 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.77 per cent up at 33473.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 140.21 points at 22302.5, while the BSE Sensex stood down 383.69 points at 73511.85.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Selan Expl Tech, Allsec Tech, Arvind Ltd, Godrej Consumer and Century Enka hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Signpost India, Atal Realtech, Future Supply Chain, Best Agrolife and Authum Investment hit their fresh 52-week lows.
