Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.51%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.51 per cent up at 33538.8.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of Wipro Ltd.(up 2.05 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.53 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.28 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.21 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.01 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 9.69 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 1.89 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.86 per cent) and Coforge Ltd.(down 0.36 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.51 per cent up at 33538.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 189.41 points at 22336.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 560.29 points at 73648.62.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 ended in the green, while 6 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, Jio Financial Servic and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Hindustan Motor, Premier Exp, Lloyds Steels, Skipper Ltd(PP)and Kalyani Invst hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MEP Infrastructure, CMI Ltd, Sumeet Ind, Sheela Foam and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
