Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.44%
The Nifty IT index closed 0.44 per cent up at 34898.15.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index closed on a positive note on Thursday.Shares of Wipro Ltd.(up 1.66 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.96 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.93 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.23 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 1.62 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty IT index closed 0.44 per cent up at 34898.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 203.25 points at 22326.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 655.04 points at 73651.35.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 7 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IDFC First Bank, YES Bank, NHPC and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Onelife Capital, IFB Industries, Dynacons Sys, Wonderla Holidays and Century Texttiles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Camlin Fine Sc, Dwarikesh Sugar, Nureca Ltd and Sintex Plastics Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
