Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.38% in an upbeat market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.38 per cent up at 35100.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:05AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.MphasiS Ltd.(up 2.79 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(up 1.41 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.69 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.41 per cent) and L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.31 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Wipro Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.38 per cent at 35100.9 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 163.75 points at 22168.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 556.13 points at 73026.43.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Indian Railway Fin and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Onelife Capital, Lakshmi Machine, Torrent Power, ABB India and Hindustan Media hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while TIL Ltd, Popular Vehicles, Sintex Plastics Tech, MT Educare and Sanco Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
