Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.08% in an upbeat market
The Nifty IT index was trading 0.08 per cent up at 37771.95.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:15AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.98 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.64 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.36 per cent), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.3 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(up 0.01 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Coforge Ltd.(down 1.34 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.35 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.27 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.08 per cent at 37771.95 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 61.86 points at 24382.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 272.13 points at 80232.51.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Bombay Burmah, Harrisons Malayalam, Optiemus Infra, Kellton Tech and Rossell India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JP Associates, Vraj Iron & Steel, MEP Infrastructure, Praxis Home Retail and Future Supply Chain hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
