Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 1.11% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.11 per cent down at 48352.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:20AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.47 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Punjab National Bank(down 3.27 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 2.63 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 2.38 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 2.14 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(down 2.13 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 1.11 per cent at 48352.6 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 154.75 points at 22287.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 485.16 points at 73410.38.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Allsec Tech, Selan Expl Tech, CG Power & Ind., Hindustan Motor and Digicontent hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, Ibull Housing Fin(PP), Best Agrolife, Lancor Holdings and Filatex Fash hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
