Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.67% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.67 per cent down at 47961.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:15AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.Bank of Baroda(up 1.03 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.78 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.68 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.28 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.05 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.67 per cent at 47961.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 65.75 points at 22236.75, while the BSE Sensex was down 255.0 points at 73256.85.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 21 were trading in the green, while 29 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, REC and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Transwarr Fin, IRIS Business Servic, Ajooni Biotech Ltd., CarTrade Tech and Allsec Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Gloster, Medico Remedies, Silly Monks Entertai, Syngene Int. and Impex Ferro Tech hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
