Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.58% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.58 per cent down at 52267.25.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:29AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.58 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.57 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 0.05 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.9 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 1.44 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.08 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(down 0.76 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.58 per cent at 52267.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 10.75 points at 24131.2, while the BSE Sensex was down 7.93 points at 79468.26.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, Motherson Sumi and ONGC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of G M Breweries, Refex Industries, JK Paper, DCX Systems and Rane Holdings hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akme Fintrade(India, Hilton Metal, Praxis Home Retail, GIR Natureview and IndInfravit Trust hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
