Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.55%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.55 per cent down at 48021.1.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of Punjab National Bank(up 2.05 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.34 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.11 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.28 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.57 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.57 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 1.16 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.85 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.55 per cent down at 48021.1.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended 0.0 points at 22302.5, while the BSE Sensex stood down 45.46 points at 73466.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Transwarr Fin, Bharat Forge, IRIS Business Servic, Pudumjee Paper Prod and CarTrade Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while PayTM, Gloster, Filatex Fash, GSS Infotech and Berger Paints hit their fresh 52-week lows.
