Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.53% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.53 per cent down at 47436.25.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 11:20AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.39 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 5.32 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.43 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.27 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.53 per cent at 47436.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 87.3 points at 22113.25, while the BSE Sensex was down 256.08 points at 72730.95.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, RattanIndia Power, YES Bank, Canara Bank and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kirloskar Bros., Roto Pumps, ABB Power, Oberoi Realty and Welspun Ent hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Brightcom Group, N K Industries, Eurotex Ind, IRB InvIT Fund and Digjam L hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
