Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.45%

On the other hand, Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 4.45 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 4.19 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 1.77 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.18 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Bank index closed 0.45 per cent down at 52425.8.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 3.3 points at 24320.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 36.22 points at 79960.38.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Rail Vikas Nigam and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Alphageo , Shreyans Ind, Kriti Nutrients, Rail Vikas Nigam and Rashtriya Chemicals hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while CMI Ltd, Brightcom Group, Filatex Fashions, Sarthak Metals and Praxis Home Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
