Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.36%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.36 per cent down at 47687.45.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of Bank of Baroda(up 1.17 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.72 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.47 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.34 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.28 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 2.47 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.54 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.16 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.36 per cent down at 47687.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 17.3 points at 22200.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 117.58 points at 72987.03.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Canara Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kirloskar Bros., Kirloskar Pneumatic, ABB Power, D-Link(India)and Associated Alch hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Butterfly Gandhi, Future Supply Chain, GSS Infotech, Mask Investments and GIR Natureview hit their fresh 52-week lows.
