Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.32% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.32 per cent down at 47708.25.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:09AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.Bank of Baroda(up 0.79 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.38 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.32 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.16 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.83 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.32 per cent at 47708.25 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 25.35 points at 22192.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 200.67 points at 72903.94.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, Canara Bank and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kirloskar Pneumatic, Associated Alch, Thermax, Centrum Capital and Linde India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, GSS Infotech, Butterfly Gandhi, BKM Industries and Crown Lifters hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
