Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.95% in an upbeat market

IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 4.9 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.85 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(down 0.19 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.95 per cent at 48658.0 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 96.35 points at 22516.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 479.93 points at 74210.09.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, IDFC First Bank and Indian Railway Fin were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Techno Electric, Yuken India, Lloyds Steels, Dolat Invst and Aegis Logistics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Atal Realtech, Popular Vehicles and Gloster hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
