Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.94% in an upbeat market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.94 per cent up at 47225.0.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:19AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.57 per cent), State Bank of India(up 1.56 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.97 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.92 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 2.25 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.94 per cent at 47225.0 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 193.8 points at 22317.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 655.0 points at 73651.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 were trading in the green, while 8 were in the red.
Shares of IDFC First Bank, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Dynacons Sys, Century Texttiles, Onelife Capital, JTEKT India and Wonder Fibromats hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Marshall Machines, SVP Global, SAB Events & Governa, FutureLifestyleFash and Compuage Infocom hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
