Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.92%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.92 per cent up at 48060.8.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Thursday.Shares of Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 3.92 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 3.06 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 2.63 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(up 1.34 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.04 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bank of Baroda(down 1.76 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.53 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.04 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.03 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.92 per cent up at 48060.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 80.0 points at 22514.65, while the BSE Sensex stood up 350.81 points at 74227.63.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Genesys Intnl, Jubilant Life, Indo Tech Trans, Indo Count Ind and MMP Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Dabur India, Nagreeka Capital, GIR Natureview, Lakshmi Precis and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
