Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.72%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.72 per cent up at 47124.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Thursday.Shares of State Bank of India(up 2.6 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 2.05 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.35 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.27 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.89 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 3.09 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.72 per cent up at 47124.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 203.25 points at 22326.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 655.04 points at 73651.35.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 42 ended in the green, while 7 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, IDFC First Bank, YES Bank, NHPC and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Onelife Capital, IFB Industries, Dynacons Sys, Wonderla Holidays and Century Texttiles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Camlin Fine Sc, Dwarikesh Sugar, Nureca Ltd and Sintex Plastics Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
