Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.44%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.44 per cent up at 52574.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.28 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.03 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.32 per cent) and Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.28 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 1.25 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.19 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.83 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 0.65 per cent) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.52 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.44 per cent up at 52574.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 131.36 points at 24141.95, while the BSE Sensex stood up 443.46 points at 79476.19.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 ended in the green, while 17 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Zomato, PNB and RattanIndia Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Rane Holdings, Roto Pumps, Nahar Poly Film, Wockhardt and Atul Auto hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Hilton Metal, Akme Fintrade(India, Baid Leasing, GIR Natureview and Rajvir Ind hit their fresh 52-week lows.
