Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.4% in a weak market
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.4 per cent up at 48696.8.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:14AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.56 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.55 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.42 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.74 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.07 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(down 0.04 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.4 per cent at 48696.8 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 134.05 points at 22570.65, while the BSE Sensex was down 401.98 points at 74100.92.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 9 were trading in the green, while 41 were in the red.
Shares of IRB Infra Dev., Vodafone Idea, Motherson Sumi, Tata Steel and YES Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Emami, Heritage Foods, Suprajit Engg, Excel Realty N Infra and Minda Ind. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Revathi Equipment, Borosil, Karda Const, Eurotex Ind and 8K Miles Soft hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
