Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.38%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.38 per cent up at 46863.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 1.89 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 1.61 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 1.41 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.79 per cent) and Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 0.73 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.31 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.23 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.38 per cent up at 46863.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 84.8 points at 22096.75, while the BSE Sensex stood up 190.75 points at 72831.94.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 ended in the green, while 13 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Railway Fin, NHPC and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of eMudhra, Vadilal Ind, The Hi-Tech Gears, Shriram Pistons and Star Cement hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Medico Remedies, SCI Land and Assets, Compuage Infocom, M K Proteins and Future Supply Chain hit their fresh 52-week lows.
