Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.34%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.34 per cent up at 52455.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of Bank of Baroda(up 3.18 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 2.71 per cent), State Bank of India(up 2.52 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(up 1.42 per cent) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.67 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.46 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(down 0.38 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent) and IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.15 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.34 per cent up at 52455.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 84.55 points at 24586.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 145.52 points at 80664.86.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IFCI, IRFC and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Mukka Proteins, Kellton Tech, Godfrey Philips, Geojit Financial and ISMT Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Akme Fintrade(India, Brightcom Group, SecUR Credentials, Landmark Cars and JP Associates hit their fresh 52-week lows.
