Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.31%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.31 per cent up at 48730.55.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.Shares of ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.84 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.37 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.13 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.22 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.86 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 0.79 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.54 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.44 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.31 per cent up at 48730.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 23.55 points at 22642.75, while the BSE Sensex stood down 58.8 points at 74683.7.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 ended in the green, while 32 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, Tata Steel and Hind Copper were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Puravankara, Premier Exp, Eldeco Housing, Hindustan Zinc and TPL Plastech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SRM Contractors, Madhya Bharat Agro, Gopal Snacks, GIR Natureview and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
