Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.27%
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.27 per cent up at 52568.8.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.Shares of ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.07 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.85 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.59 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.13 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 0.08 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 1.82 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.72 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.27 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.27 per cent up at 52568.8.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 112.66 points at 24433.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 391.26 points at 80351.64.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 ended in the green, while 17 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Rail Vikas Nigam, Indian Railway Fin and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Sharda Motor, Bombay Burmah, Kellton Tech, RPP Infra Proj and D-Link(India)hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Filatex Fashions, Vraj Iron & Steel, IRIS Clothings, MEP Infrastructure and Praxis Home Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
