Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.23% in an upbeat market

Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.3 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.9 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.23 per cent at 47685.25 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 92.25 points at 22239.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 227.49 points at 73315.82.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 44 were trading in the green, while 6 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, Hind Copper and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Premier Exp, Hindustan Motor, TPL Plastech, Automotive Stamp and Venus Pipes & Tubes hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Lakshmi Precis, CMI Ltd, Sumeet Ind, Melstar Info and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
