Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 1.36% in a weak market
The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.36 per cent down at 20647.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:20AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.Bosch Ltd.(up 0.06 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 8.86 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 2.29 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 2.06 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.92 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.67 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 1.36 per cent at 20647.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 91.16 points at 22244.55, while the BSE Sensex was down 145.65 points at 73522.31.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, NHPC, ITC and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Somi Conveyor, Intellect Design, Modern Threads(India)Ltd., Diamond Power and Tarapur Trans hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Marshall Machines, Sindhu Trade, GRM Overseas, R K Swamy and Ebixcash World Money hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
