Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.86% in a weak market
The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.86 per cent down at 22332.4.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:39AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 0.26 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.
MRF Ltd.(down 2.05 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 2.02 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 1.96 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.39 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Auto index was down 0.86 per cent at 22332.4 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 117.3 points at 22325.4, while the BSE Sensex was down 418.05 points at 73477.49.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and GMR Infra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Selan Expl Tech, Allsec Tech, CG Power & Ind., Bigbloc Const and Arvind Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Flexituff Ventures, Atal Realtech, Filatex Fash, Anmol India and Best Agrolife hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
