Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.19% in a weak market

Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 2.85 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 2.54 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 1.71 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent) and Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 1.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.19 per cent at 20315.6 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 52.5 points at 21764.95, while the BSE Sensex was down 153.01 points at 71859.04.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Steel, NHPC and Jio Financial Servic were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Cubex Tubings, Nagreeka Export, D P Abhushan, Maruti Suzuki and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Vaxtex Cotfab, Lakshmi Precis, N K Industries, Bohra Industries and SCI Land and Assets hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
