Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.15%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.15 per cent down at 22078.75.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Monday.Shares of Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 2.31 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 1.42 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 1.0 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(up 0.86 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.39 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(down 2.13 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 1.68 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.76 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.15 per cent down at 22078.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 223.46 points at 22643.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 941.12 points at 74671.28.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 ended in the green, while 18 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IDFC First Bank, Indian Renewable and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Archidply Ind, Supreme Ind., Lloyds Steels, Aegis Logistics and SMC Global Secur hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while MPS Infotecnics, Atal Realtech, Future Supply Chain, Gloster and Popular Vehicles hit their fresh 52-week lows.
