Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.08% in an upbeat market

Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.07 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(down 0.79 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 0.53 per cent) and Ashok Leyland Ltd.(down 0.49 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.08 per cent at 21538.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 9.46 points at 22425.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 2.62 points at 73879.44.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 17 were trading in the green, while 33 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, PNB and Indian Renewable were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of KEC Int., GE Power India, The Anup Engg, SRM Contractors and Websol Energy hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Naga Dhunseri Group, DCM Financial, 3rd Rock MultiMedia, Mask Investments and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
