Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.08%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.08 per cent down at 21896.9.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 1.69 per cent), Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 1.29 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.12 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 0.72 per cent) and TVS Motor Company Ltd.(up 0.58 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bosch Ltd.(down 1.44 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.13 per cent), MRF Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.41 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.08 per cent down at 21896.9.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 34.41 points at 22402.4, while the BSE Sensex stood up 114.49 points at 73852.94.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 ended in the green, while 22 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, YES Bank, NMDC Steel and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Raj Oil Mills, Steel City Securitie, Chennai Petro, Yuken India and Aegis Logistics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Atal Realtech, GIR Natureview, BDR Buildcon, IndInfravit Trust and Ahimsa Industries L hit their fresh 52-week lows.
