Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.06%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.06 per cent down at 21985.15.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.Shares of Bharat Forge Ltd.(up 2.5 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(up 2.17 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.57 per cent), Ashok Leyland Ltd.(up 1.4 per cent) and Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 1.2 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.6 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 0.91 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.71 per cent), Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 0.6 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.6 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.06 per cent down at 21985.15.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 111.05 points at 22753.8, while the BSE Sensex stood up 354.45 points at 75038.15.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 19 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Vedanta, NMDC Steel and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Ganges Securities, Emkay Global, Jubilant Ingrevia, DC Infotech and GKW Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Melstar Info, GIR Natureview, Websol Energy, Lakshmi Precis and BDR Buildcon hit their fresh 52-week lows.
