Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 1.26%
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.26 per cent up at 20446.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Monday.Shares of Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd.(up 3.35 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.15 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 2.82 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.05 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.4 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, MRF Ltd.(down 3.05 per cent), TVS Motor Company Ltd.(down 1.7 per cent), Tube Investments of India Ltd.(down 1.41 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.23 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 0.68 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 1.26 per cent up at 20446.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 32.36 points at 22055.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 104.99 points at 72748.42.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 ended in the green, while 27 closed in the red.
Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Steel, NHPC and SJVN were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of The Anup Engg, Reliance Infra, Linde India, Force Motors and Somi Conveyor hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while SITI Networks, Sanco Industries, Vaxtex Cotfab, Prudential Sugar and Stampede Cap(DVR)hit their fresh 52-week lows.
