Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.17% in an upbeat market

Balkrishna Industries Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 0.94 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 0.81 per cent) and Exide Industries Ltd.(down 0.21 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.17 per cent at 23364.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 110.66 points at 22708.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 372.11 points at 74593.17.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, NHPC, Rail Vikas Nigam and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GRSE, Cochin Shipyard, Excel Realty N Infra, PG Electroplast and PNC Infratech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while United Polyfab Gujar, Brightcom Group, Infomedia Press, SAB Events & Governance and GSS Infotech hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
