Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.04%
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.04 per cent up at 25200.6.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Friday.Shares of Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 4.71 per cent), MRF Ltd.(up 3.4 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.95 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.82 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.73 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(down 4.16 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(down 1.92 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.19 per cent), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.87 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.78 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.04 per cent up at 25200.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 33.91 points at 24010.6, while the BSE Sensex stood down 210.45 points at 79032.73.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 ended in the green, while 25 closed in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, HFCL and Indus Towers were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of CDSL, Chola Fin Holdings, NBI Industrial, Solara Active Pharma(PP)and Kalyani Invst hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kanani Inds, Akme Fintrade(India, Hilton Metal, Future Supply Chain and Suumaya Lifestyle hit their fresh 52-week lows.
