Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:45AM

Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 6.28%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 6.26%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 4.59%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 4.54%), 20 Microns Ltd.(up 4.16%), MOIL Ltd.(up 3.92%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(up 3.55%), Pokarna Ltd.(up 3.37%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 1.79%) and Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 1.59%) were among the top gainers.

Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 4.55%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(down 0.61%) and NMDC Ltd.(down 0.44%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 72.8 points up at 22070.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 169.24 points at 72931.13 at around 10:45AM.

Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 3.48%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 3.28%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 2.53%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.25%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.85%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.79%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.59%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.47%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.43%) and Infosys Ltd.(up 1.4%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, JSW Steel Ltd.(down 2.62%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 1.92%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.84%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.79%), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 0.72%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.54%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.53%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.52%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.48%) and Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(down 0.36%) were trading in the red.
