Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises
The 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 33.4 points at 74119.39
NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed higher in the Thursday's session.Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(up 3.74%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd.(up 3.43%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 3.41%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 2.76%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(up 2.07%), ADF Foods Ltd.(up 2.04%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(up 1.91%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(up 1.85%), Marico Ltd.(up 1.77%) and Heritage Foods Ltd.(up 1.44%) stood among the top gainers.
Future Consumer Ltd.(down 5.27%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.34%), Dangee Dums Ltd.(down 1.36%), Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd.(down 1.18%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(down 0.74%), Honasa Consumer Ltd.(down 0.50%), Dodla Dairy Ltd.(down 0.48%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.48%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(down 0.27%) and Patanjali Foods Ltd.(down 0.11%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 19.5 points up at 22493.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 33.4 points at 74119.39.
Tata Steel Ltd.(up 3.73%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 3.41%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 3.18%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 2.13%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.11%), UPL Ltd.(up 1.93%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.86%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 1.82%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 1.74%) and Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.61%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 3.71%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 2.14%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 1.61%), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.21%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.84%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.81%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.77%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.67%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.66%) and Coal India Ltd.(down 0.65%) closed in the red.
