Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms , Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 2.39%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX:CBOM ), which rose 2.37% or 0.17 points to trade at 7.14 at the close. Meanwhile, PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:PHOR ) added 2.28% or 121.00 points to end at 5,438.00 and Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref (MCX:SNGS_p ) was up 2.02% or 1.12 points to 56.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX:AGRODR ), which fell 2.52% or 30.40 points to trade at 1,174.80 at the close. TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin Pref (MCX:TATN_p ) declined 2.32% or 13.50 points to end at 568.40 and TATNEFT n.a. V.D. Shashin (MCX:TATN ) was down 2.28% or 13.30 points to 569.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 193 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 3.29% to 35.48.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.56% or 14.60 to $2,571.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.35% or 0.24 to hit $68.67 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.21 to trade at $72.49 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.18% to 99.67, while EUR/RUB rose 0.77% to 104.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 106.88.
