Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas , Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 3.78%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK ), which rose 9.54% or 88.20 points to trade at 1,013.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP ) added 8.48% or 9.91 points to end at 126.72 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT ) was up 6.63% or 3.08 points to 49.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:CBOM ), which fell 1.01% or 0.07 points to trade at 6.66 at the close. Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR ) declined 0.10% or 1.20 points to end at 1,217.40 and HeadHunter Group PLC (MCX:HHRUDR ) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 3,908.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 234 to 16 and 3 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.19% to 33.94.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.29% or 7.30 to $2,553.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.11% or 2.33 to hit $77.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $80.14 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 92.00, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 102.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 100.76.
