Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials , Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.68% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT ), which rose 1.75% or 0.29 points to trade at 16.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA ) added 1.54% or 0.04 points to end at 2.51 and Semapa (ELI:SEM ) was up 1.25% or 0.18 points to 14.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT ), which fell 0.44% or 0.02 points to trade at 4.51 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP ) declined 0.41% or 0.07 points to end at 17.10 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA ) was down 0.22% or 0.02 points to 8.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 5 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.50% or 0.36 to $72.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.52% or 0.36 to hit $69.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.26% or 32.55 to trade at $2,613.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 101.06.
