Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities , Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT ), which rose 2.46% or 0.41 points to trade at 17.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA ) added 1.68% or 0.04 points to end at 2.54 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR ) was up 0.88% or 0.03 points to 3.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP ), which unchanged 0.61% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.41 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP ) declined 0.23% or 0.04 points to end at 17.08 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT ) was down 0.18% or 0.02 points to 8.31.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was up 1.39% or 1.02 to $74.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.36% or 0.96 to hit $71.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.75% or 20.00 to trade at $2,672.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 100.27.
