OpenAI eyes $6.5B fundraising to bolster valuation to $150B - Bloomberg

Investing.com -- ChatGPT parent Open AI is talks to raise around $6.5 billion from investors, taking its valuation to around $150B, well above its prior $86B valuation, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing unnamed sources.

Banks are also in talks to issue the AI startup $5B in debt, the sources said. 

Thrive Capital is set to lead the funding round, Bloomberg previously reported, with Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT ) also expected to join in, while Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL ), and Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA ) are in talks about participating.

The startup did not comment on the funding talks, Bloomberg reported.
