Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials , Industrials and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.19% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS:BESI ), which rose 5.00% or 5.80 points to trade at 121.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN ) added 2.78% or 39.00 points to end at 1,440.80 and ASR Nederland NV (AS:ASRNL ) was up 2.42% or 1.09 points to 46.07 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Heineken (AS:HEIN ), which fell 1.55% or 1.08 points to trade at 68.80 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT ) declined 1.34% or 0.32 points to end at 23.63 and Shell PLC (AS:SHEL ) was down 0.84% or 0.26 points to 30.78.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 59 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Heineken (AS:HEIN ) fell to 5-year lows; losing 1.55% or 1.08 to 68.80.
The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.90% or 0.63 to $69.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.76% or 0.56 to hit $73.06 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 6.81 to trade at $2,674.71 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.16.
