Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.57%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA ), which rose 4.32% or 0.84 points to trade at 20.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Banorte (BMV:GFNORTEO ) added 3.30% or 4.42 points to end at 138.50 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (BMV:GFINBURO ) was up 3.24% or 1.44 points to 45.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO ), which fell 3.91% or 0.29 points to trade at 7.12 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA ) declined 2.27% or 0.52 points to end at 22.42 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:ALFAA ) was down 1.63% or 0.22 points to 13.26.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 124 to 104 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.76% or 44.65 to $2,587.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.78% or 1.87 to hit $69.18 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $72.22 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.12% to 19.53, while EUR/MXN fell 0.09% to 21.62.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 101.23.
