Italy stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 up 1.92%

Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms , Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.92%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS ), which rose 11.60% or 0.64 points to trade at 6.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT ) added 8.15% or 0.02 points to end at 0.23 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI ) was up 4.69% or 0.34 points to 7.47 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG ), which fell 2.51% or 0.24 points to trade at 9.48 at the close. DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS ) declined 1.96% or 2.10 points to end at 104.95 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF ) was down 0.79% or 0.20 points to 25.14.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 310 to 204 and 44 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 11.60% or 0.64 to 6.16.

Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.15% or 0.10 to $68.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.19% or 0.14 to hit $72.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 7.10 to trade at $2,579.40 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 106.49.
